Do your weekend vices consist of boxed wine and/or beer that comes in a can? Do you get starry-eyed over the prospect of free food? Do you feel obligated to take serious advantage of the $5 beer and shot special, even if it’s during happy hour on a Tuesday? Must you breathe into a paper bag before checking your bank balance? And do you end up weeping in the fetal position after checking your bank balance? Yes? Being broke sucks for sure, but it also makes the whole paycheck thing that much more awesome. And getting your first big check is like, the best thing ever. There’s a chance that you’ll end up buying rounds of drinks for your friends, purchasing something totally ridiculous, like a $400 cape or a bunch of workout eqipment that you can barely fit inside your apartment, and ordering expensive meals off Seamless everyday until all of your money is gone but hey, you deserve it!

If you’re like me, then you’ve probably already listened to this like, 500 times, but it’s still super catchy and it’s perfect for when you’re drinking champagne in cocktail attire – even if you’re sitting on someone’s futon in a studio apartment in Bed Stuy.
2. “High Society” – Betty Who
This dreamy Betty Who track is romantic and sweet, and the lyrics describe [the fantasy of] the perfect relationship – one that involves penthouses, Monaco, silk lapels and drinking wine all day.
3. “Tom Ford” – Jay Z
Fancy, rich people don’t pop molly, they rock Tom Ford, obviously. And if you receive a check in the amount of like, 5G’s, then you can rock Tom Ford too!
4. “Time to Pretend” – MGMT
This song is clearly meant to ridicule jobs and money, but whatever. It is exciting to get paid, and you can totally pretend you’re manning an island, and cocaine and elegant cars. Just don’t get caught up in the glamour and choke on your own vomit in the end.
5. “Spa Day” – Le1f
If you’ve seen what Le1f looks like, or you’ve heard his tracks, or you’ve seen his videos, then you know that he’s awesome and flashy in the best possible way. And “Spa Day” (song and video) might be the best evidence of this.
6. “Money Machine” – 2 Chainz
Self-explanatory.

7. “Rich Girls” – The Virgins
This video is almost better than the song. Want to let it be known that you’ve been paid? Strut into the bar like a supermodel, cause a scene, and makeout with a stranger. Then, go home and take a hot shower because you were rolling all over the bar at Lit Lounge.
8. “Dolce & Gabbana” – RiFF RAFF
Just let RiFF RAFF be your inspiration if/when you’ve begun to earn a steady income. Or let him be your inspiration, regardless.
