Recently, I spent a weekend at “adult summer camp”, aka Welcome Campers, a music festival in western Massachusetts. Normally for me, a typical between-set activity at a festival involves trying to nap in the shade, wait in line for a horrific port-a-potty, or buy an absurdly overpriced taco. At Welcome Campers, cozy sets from acts like Wet, Torres and Aisha Badru were broken up by stuff like swimming, friendship bracelet-making, s’mores, and an absolutely savage game of kickball.
