Bent Denim create their music by way of email, with the exchange of respective sounds between a Ben Littlejohn in Nashville and Dennis Sager of New Orleans. And the result — as one might predict — is lo-fi to say the least. The barely minute-long affair of the tender “Caitlin”, is the duo’s first single to emerge from their debut album, Romances You, which they’ve ludicrously self-labeled as “nightmare pop.” It nose-dives directly into reverbed vocals, keyboard hits, and gauged guitar improv, which should all leave you in a pleasant daydream for its arguably too brief duration.
