Review: Lucius @ Brooklyn Bowl (10/15)
“Scary good” is my take on what’s been hands-down the main attraction of my very limited CMJ experience thus far. Lucius filled the cavernous space with a potent, full-bodied sound that’s a million times more inebriating than whatever wine you think I’m describing. Well-executed and studio-perfect as everything sounded, I had to wonder for a moment if they were lip-syncing, but will you look at these classy motherfuckers? They’d almost be commercial-sounding if it weren’t for how creative they are – and facile with their ability to change up their instruments. I came for Cults, but Lucius stole the show.
