Dev Hynes has been on somewhat of a hiatus since the release of 2013’s Cupid Deluxe, the second full-length under his Blood Orange moniker. Since then, he’s put out a spectacular music video but has been relatively quiet in terms of new material. That all changed the other day when Hynes posted a demo entitled “Delancey” on his website, where he claims it was written, recorded, and produced all on March 2nd. The track is just what you’d expect from a surprise Blood Orange release, with a spacey cello and keyboard providing a creative playground for Hynes’ incoherent layered vocals.
