So much for summer love. Uber cool Bulgarian rapper DENA is making waves with her new break up track, “Summer Doesn’t Mean A Thing.” This track brings out the angsty teen in all of us. It is the edgy female alternative to catchy summer songs in the past a la JT’s, “Summer Love.” In her new single off her debut album Flash, she raps, “Watch my love melt away like ice cream in my hand”-girl we feel you.
DENA first popped on the worlds hip hop radar with her upbeat dance track, “Cash, Diamond Rings, Swimming Pools”, which she performed at SXSW back in 2012. She has since joined the ranks of upcoming female rappers that are reigning over the male dominated genre and taking over.
The song is produced by German producer, Robert Koch and features a deep voiced DENA rapping over soft electronic beats about how much summer love sucks.
Grab your girlfriends and listen.
