Drowners have been keeping busy opening up for a little band called the Arctic Monkeys. Now they’ve shared the spelling challenged “Luv, Hold Me Down,” and it’s not the only way the track is challenged. It’s a tale of an unrequited school crush. “Luv, Hold Me Down” is smattered with lyricism reminiscent of long-gone but much adored indie pop band Voxtrot. The shimmering guitar is reminiscent of a band that definitely influenced both Voxtrot and Drowners, The Smiths, which is never a bad thing.
