If you’ve been following along, you’re probably aware that Erika M. Anderson, aka EMA, has a new album coming out in a few short weeks. The Future’s Void will be out April 8th, and now we have a third song from the album to check out. “3Jane” shows us yet another side to Anderson’s style.

Where “Satellite” was blistering and angry and “So Blonde” was light and sunny, “3Jane” is a low key and delicate affair. It borders on ambient, buoyed by a simple piano backing. It’s lyrics are paranoid, but feel like they come from a point of pain. Anderson’s voice has always been able to convey a feeling of vulnerability, and it’s perfectly conveyed of “3Jane.” It’s an incredibly sad song, and seems to find Anderson’s narrator at their lowest point. It’s a song low on flourish, but high on emotion. Check it out below.
