It’s vibe music. Easy listening and something sad you put on when your girlfriend’s over, Ex Cops’ “Tragically Alright (feat. Ariel Pink)” is something straight out of an early 2000’s indie romance film that no one’s ever heard of. I imagine myself listening to this track either alone, wishing for some manic-pixie-dream-girl to be wrapped in my arms in the pit of night with rain tapping against a city window, or in some small apartment party dancing slowly with a beer in hand and christmas lights illuminating the room. The song, off their upcoming album, Daggers, drives with a mid-tempo bass line and soft spoken melodies about coping through some melancholic period. Listen to the track below.
