You’re going to want to turn up the volume on this one. Once you do, bask in the qualities that mark a vintage GBV song – scuzzy, low-fi, and almost comically brief. If not quite laid-back, its summer vibes make the song an apt second single from Cool Planet (the first is the sharper, peppier “Bad Love is Easy to Do”). I’m not sure where Fool’s Tooth is, but it totally brings me back to that night in a basement apartment in Williamsburg, with a guy who asked if I “liked Mumford and Sons” and then put these guys on to my sweet relief. Cool Planet is due out May 19 on Fire Records, and is the reunited band’s second full length album this year.
