Fresh from signing with Terrible Records, New York based rapper Le1f finally dropped his first single off his upcoming EP, Hey. This will make him the first rapper to sign with the label, which is co-founded by Grizzly Bear’s Chris Taylor. The colorful rapper and his hair gained media attention when he made his debut with his video for “Wut” in 2012, thus blowing up the hip hop scene with his eccentric take on an otherwise ultra-masculine genre. His new club track,” Boom,” combines his raw voice with different beats layering on each other through out the song and is sure to become this summer’s “Gas Pedal.” As the song progresses, the track intensifies and you soon find yourself unconsciously singing the catchy chorus: “Yeah, you know how we do, we come through, we make em’ say oooh, like boom” and grinding with yourself to one of the catchiest hip hop songs we have heard in a long time.
