We already knew that gap toothed prankster Mac DeMarco had an album coming out this year, we were just waiting on the details. Today we got those details, as well as a song from the album. The song, titled “Passing Out Pieces” has a similar sound to that of his excellent 2012 album, 2. He’s become quite adept at making seemingly simple music. “Passing Out Pieces” feels easygoing and refreshing. While the lyrics may have a little more weight to them, dealing with the transactional nature of relationships and living in general, they don’t cause any disassociation because they are delivered so nonchalantly. DeMarco’s new album, Salad Days, will see release on April 1st (of course) on Captured Tracks.
