Take a sonic break from Brooklyn and hear this SF-based group’s new single, off their upcoming album, House of Spirits, out June 9 on Mexican Summer. Grungy guitar is paired with a calming, atmospheric melody and rich harmonies. There is a distinctly western quality to it — maybe it’s the references to the title town of Paonia, Colorado, or maybe it’s the carefree yet melancholy mood it captures. Either way, this kind of sound is likely to be a hit at SXSW, where the Fresh & Onlys will be playing several shows next week.
