Listen: The Rentals “1000 Seasons”

the rentals

The Rentals have just released “1000 Seasons,” the second single from their upcoming album Lost in Alphaville. The track opens with a momentum-building overload of distorted treble and another one of Matt Sharp’s keen pop melodies, just before paving the way for a chorus dominated by shimmering vocal work from Jess Wolfe and Holly Laessig of Lucius — another one of our faves. Oh, I guess I forgot mention that this song is the baby of a fantastically talented supergroup featuring  Ryen Slegr of Ozma, Lauren Chipman of The Section Quartet, and Patrick Carney of the Black Keys. In other words, it sells itself.

Listen to the track below.

Lost in Alphaville drops from Polyvinyl Records on August 26.
