Fall is one of the best times for live music and this month is no exception. A few halloween gigs on deck, but mostly just a bunch of great shows and some artists who’ll be making their New York debut (!)
Saturday, October 1st
Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Japanese Breakfast, The Linda Lindas – Forest Hills Stadium ($29+)
Pavement – Kings Theater ($119+)
Sunday, October 2nd
The Garden, Flipper, Kumo 99 – Brooklyn Steel ($25)
The Garden is always a 10/10 time. I feel like them at Brooklyn Steel is gonna be absolute mayhem in the most chaotic (albeit potentially dangerous) way
The Linda Lindas, Bacchae, Sub*T – Bowery Ballroom (SOLD OUT)
Monday, October 3rd
Turnstile, JPEGMAFIA, Snail Mail – The Brooklyn Mirage (WAITLIST)
Sports Team, Thus Love – Mercury Lounge (SOLD OUT)
I haven’t had a chance to see Thus Love yet, but have heard really great things
Tuesday, October 4th
Walt Disco, Stella Rose and the Dead Language – Baby’s All Right ($20)
CROWS, Fat Trout Trailer Park – TV Eye ($19)
CROWS are joining Wolf Alice on their US tour, but you have the chance to see them headline one of the best rooms in Brooklyn and I’d take it. Fat Trout are great as well.
Wednesday, October 5th
Little Jesus & Diviño Niño – Elsewhere ($20-25)
This is a show you could take a date to if you’re the kind of person that takes dates to shows
Thursday, October 6th
Couch Prints, Tallies, Sylmar, Flossing – Berlin ($11)
We love cool New York acts. Couch Prints and Flossing are cool New York acts.
Friday, October 7th
Wunderhorse – Mercury Lounge ($21.25)
I can’t make this show and it is eating me alive. To say I’ve been dying to see Wunderhorse for a minute would be an understatement. Listen to everything that’s been released thus far and you’ll get it. If you are not there and you could’ve been, big regrets ahead.
Saturday, October 8th
Momma, Waveform – Music Hall of Williamsburg ($28)
Does “Speeding 72” have one of the best melodies of all time? Yes. Reason enough for you to go, but Momma truly is the moment and you should be there.
Monday and Tuesday, October 10-11th
Stereolab – Brooklyn Steel ($40-$45)
A great, great band. Enough said.
Friday, October 14th

Great band, great venue, great time

Monday, October 17th
The Black Angels, The Vacant Lots – Brooklyn Steel ($30)
Tuesday, October 18th
Shame, Viagra Boys, Kills Birds – Brooklyn Steel ($27.50)
