This is comedic gold. Celeste Ballard, a writer at thehairpin.com, posted a gut-busting breakdown of Miley Cyrus’s “We Can’t Stop” in the voice of Cormac McCarthy. Entitled “No Country For Old Miley,” Ballard’s parody is a whirlwind wildly vivid and verbose, executed in true McCarthy fashion. Line after line she brilliantly embellishes and elaborates upon the physical and philosophical beauty of every scene in Cyrus’s controversial video. The only thing I can find wrong with this piece is that it’s too quotable. If you’re a literary nerd like me and dig McCarthy’s cowboyish twang, you’re in for a good laugh. Easily my best find this week.
