“Wild Style” @ Nitehawk Cinema ($15)
Tonight in Brooklyn there will be a special, one-night screening of “Wild Style” at Nitehawk Cinema in celebration of the 30th anniversary of its release. Considered a time capsule of 1980s New York, “Wild Style” provides a glimpse into the origins of the now-popular subcultures of graffiti, hip-hop, and breakdancing. So come throw it back, get schooled, and enjoy a free beer with your ticket at the after-party in the Downstairs Bar. Maybe you’ll get a chance to chat up director Charlie Ahearn, who is said to be attending.
