Video Premiere: Acid Tongue celebrates the apocalypse in ‘Rock ‘N Roll Revelations’

If you ever thought, “why not put some dancing rats on an atomic bomb,” then you and Acid Tongue are on the same page.

For the video for their song “Rock ‘N Roll Revelations (feat. Smokey Brights)”, which came out just yesterday, they’ve teamed up with animator Ben Clarkson to create an apocalyptic celebration of the end of the world as we know it, as the twilight of capitalism swallows us all whole. The song is indeed joyful in its tight embrace of ’70s rock, jangly keys and all, even though the state of things might urge you to learn towards doom and gloom. The jewel tones in the animation look as if they’re already radioactive, burning up as the rats (both anthropomorphic and traditional) watch the whole thing come to an end.

As singer/songwriter Guy Keltner & drummer/visual artist Ian Cunningham, the two minds behind Acid Tongue, see it — what’s the reason to not put your best foot forward even when everything’s gone to shit? There is always room for joy.

“Rock ‘N Roll Revelations” is off of Acid Tongue’s Blossom EP, which will be out on July 23. Keep an eye out for that and watch the video, exclusively here first:
