
Folk stalwart Damon McMahon, who records under the moniker Amen Dunes, will be releasing a new album on May 13. It is simply titled Love, and will be released on the home for his other recent albums, Sacred Bones. McMahon has released a video for a song from the album, titled “Lilac In Hand.”
The video is quite simple, following someone through a hectic day in the city. The Karl Lemieux directed video is shot in black and white, highlighted by the layer of light snow on the ground. The sped up footage gives the video a rushed feeling, but also does a good job of presenting the passage of time. When you look at it from that angle, it fits the song quite well. There is an overall feeling of exploration in the video, but also an sensation of looking for something that, by the end of the video, hasn’t been found. Check it out below.
