Shadowy, sultry, and seductive. These are the three S’s of modern RnB. In the video for Bank’s excellent song, “Brain,” she manages to hit all three. The song was notably produced by Shlohmo, and the video does his production tricks a good amount of justice. it picks up on his spasmodic timing very well, and drapes Banks herself in a veil of black and white (and a literal veil at some points). It largely focuses on the artist herself, but there is some very pleasing artistic flourishes in here as well, all synced to the music. Though if you are prone to seizures be warned: the end part of the video gets a little strobe-y. Check it out below.
