Caribou has just released a video for the title track of their most recent record, Our Love. The video follows an older woman as she goes about her day in a picturesque mansion in the Irish countryside. Before heading out into the fields, where she eventually meditates on a memory (presumably) of her younger self dancing with a man one night many years ago, we see the woman smooth out the sheets on her half of a bed, while the other side appears to be occupied by a covered, undisturbed body (dead husband, anyone?). This brief image and moment colors everything that follows, and the sadness of her memory, along with Caribou’s sleek beats and layering, becomes so much more palpable.
