Life is a dull and empty thing according to Full Time’s new video for “Guess Work”, a b-side from their new 7″. Between watching clothes spin in a dryer, surveying vacant city streets from an apartment window, and getting a glimpse of lonely men praying in a gothic church, you get pulled around “like a puppy dog” through a black and white cultural wasteland. Everyone’s watching each other in secret, and the sad truth is all their lives are boring. The song itself speaks of drudgery and denial—the facades we establish to keep ourselves going despite the mundane aspects of life continuously trying to swallow us. The tempo drags, like walking home after a long day at work, or walking to work after a long, sleepless night at home, and all you want to do is give up or go to bed for a while. All we can do, though, is “lie, lie, lie.” Watch below.
