DFA dance duo Holy Ghost!, comprised of Nick Millhiser and Alex Frankel, have released the video to their track “Bridge and Tunnel” which documents their adventures on the road and in particular, their descent into New York. As native New Yorkers, the boys of Holy Ghost! zip through hazy city lights and capture the vibrant bustle that has separated NYC from the rest.
Taking a psychedelia page from (dare I say it) Saturday Night Fever, Holy Ghost! takes us along to their shows with fluorescently highlighted footage of their tour bus, shows, and bits and pieces of the New York landscape. Given all the recent congestion about destructive gentrification and the seemingly irreversible turn the city has taken towards expensive unattainability, it’s nice to see a catchy track remind us why we live here, or want to live here, at all. It also reminds me that everyone should invest in a leather jacket as soon as humanly possible.
