In his new video, Bedstuy’s own Mac DeMarco has taken his song “Chamber Of Reflection,” slowed it down to a hazy psychedelic lurch, and set it to the drunken dream of a buxom Homer Simpson, in which (s)he gallivants through a day in NYC. The song takes on a curious new life at this stoner speed, with DeMarco’s vocals distorting and dipping into some strangely satisfying lower registers. The playfulness of the first incarnation has become almost somber this time around, but in a good way. We gotta admit: we didn’t see this side of the slacker vibe coming, and we can’t wait for more.
