It mostly goes without saying that electronic producers Röyksopp and pop queen Robyn are amazing artists in their own right. So what happens when you put them together? We’re about to find out. On May 26th, they will release their first truly integrated work, a mini album titled Do It Again on Dog Triumph. While Röyksopp have produced for Robyn in the past, this is the first time they’ve attempted to do something as a fully formed partnership. In that sense, “Sayit” is interesting in itself because it largely fits a closer mold to Röyksopp’s signature sounds, but it also belays the ferocity of Robyn’s solo work as well. All in all it should make for some great listening.
“Sayit” also has a video, which delivers on the aesthetic of the album artwork seen above. It plays a lot on repetition, as the song itself does. It features each person in their artwork adorned attire, looking quite majestic. The Sandberg & Timonen / Kacper Kasprzyk directed video features plenty of stomping and distorted video, as well as some entertaining use of animals. That chicken sure can channel a beat.
