Savages released the excellent Silence Yourself earlier in the year. The band has now released a video for the excellent “Husbands” of that same album. The John Minton directed video frames the band, and in particular, lead singer Jehnny Beth in simple black and white. Spliced into the powerful performance of the song is archival footage of insects and reptiles that comes off as very off putting and somewhat grotesque. This is arguably the intended effect, and the video works well in selling the song’s stark brutality.
