Watch: Sleigh Bells “Bitter Rivals”

Brooklyn noise-pop sensation Sleigh Bells returns with a new video for the title track of their upcoming album, Bitter Rivals. The video opens with the sounds of an unsheathing sword, finger snaps, and a few coos from frontwan Alexis Krauss, providing a subtle foreshadowing of the song to come. A concussive blast of distorted power chords and scream-sing vocals soon follows, with Krauss leading a powerful troupe of vibrantly-haired backup dancers and guitarist Derek Miller working an LSU-inspired guitar and outfit. In direct juxtaposition to the frenzy of hair flips, sensual dancing, and shadow boxing in a leopard print robe, Krauss weaves in the sweetly desperate and wispy chorus of “You were my bitter rival, / but I need you for survival.” Enjoy this little taste before the entire album drops from Mom + Pop on October 8th.
