Stephen Malkmus & The Jicks will release the follow up to 2011’s Mirror Traffic with Wig Out at Jagbags, out January 7 on Matador Records. In the meantime, the band has shared a clever lyric video for “Lariat.” By clever, I mean, that the lyrics are all translated into French subtitles by a girl. In the video, a bunch of attractive French people are hanging out in an apartment as the girl wanders around with her headphones and iPod in hand. It’s kept simple as “Lariat” is the true star of the video. When Malkmus sings “we grew up listening to the music from the best decade ever,” it’s very easy to believe him. Watch “Lariat” below.
