The National do their single “Graceless” some serious justice in a frenzied new music video set in the home of frontman Matt Berninger’s parents’ home in Cincinnati. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, Berninger revealed there was “a great deal of binge drinking beer,” and that they “kind of destroyed the place.” Oh really? Well, yes. Just press play and watch in black and white as the well-dressed quintet engage in wonderfully frat boy-ish antics such as shotgunning some brews, goofing off in a pool, and destroying a bouncy castle, all while Beringer’s dad (I think?) rides by on his lawnmower, aloof, allowing the boys to be boys. It’s a terrifically simple and somber outro for the summer. Let’s hope next time they need extras.
