Malaysian singer-songwriter Yuna has just released a video for “Mountains,” from her 2013 release Nocturnal. It’s a pretty straightforward shoot of Yuna doing her thing, but with a voice like that how much more do you really need? We watch as she slowly builds a simple folk-pop song, using a foot pedal to loop multiple guitar lines on top of one another, syncing up the bass and lead sections so she can focus on the chords and singing. Unsurprising, Yuna is able to take such a minimal setup sound and make it sound as immense as the mountains in her song — though we don’t anticipate her falling away any time soon.
